Greg Sherwall is a coffee-enthusiast and chef who opened ERC as a roastery and café in 2018. The café quickly earned a loyal clientele, including Ashdown Capital’s Andrew Still, who watched Greg hone his craft and build the business over the course of two years. With business bustling, Greg began eying-up expansion to a larger, more prominent location in a new development in Esquimalt. This new facility would be a significant space upgrade, and allow ERC to expand its food offerings. Although eager to grow, Greg’s capacity was limited by busy operations, and taking on financing negotiations was an overwhelming and time-consuming prospect.
